Functional Wellness begins with Functional Nutrition which addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.
Chiropractic is a complementary and alternative health care profession with the purpose of diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the spine and musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors offer care with the intention of affecting the nervous system and improving health, aiding in pain management, and reflecting a holistic approach to wellness.
Manipulations – A spinal manipulation uses joint and muscular adjustments to relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation and improve nerve function.
Both Drs. Gentner went to Broward Community College and Florida Atlantic University
for their undergraduate studies. They attended Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia
where they also did their internship.
Dr. John Genter
Dr. John Gentner is a practicing Chiropractor who has a passion for helping people feel better through better body alignment. Chiropractic is natural healing art that helps the body find balance through gentle manipulation, exercise and ergonomics. Helping people use better body mechanics in their daily lives contributes to better spinal health and less pain. He has worked with athletes, both professionals and student alike. He enjoys helping all people reach their maximum in performance and health alike.
Dr. John founded Gentner Chiropractic and Wellness 24 years ago and has grown the practice one of the busiest practices in Cleveland. Prior to practicing in Lakewood he also practiced in Ft Lauderdale FL and Knoxville TN, totaling 32 years of experience.
Dr. John has been married and worked with his wife of nearly 30 years, Dr. Judy Gentner. The two met at Life Chiropractic College and have forged a Wellness Center to include Chiropractic, Exercise, and Nutrition. He is the father of 3 daughters and one Doberman puppy. His hobbies include spending time with family, exercise, golf, and restoring muscle cars.
Dr. Judy Genter
Dr. Judy Gentner is a Chiropractor who is passionate for helping patients achieve their best life through structural alignment and clinical nutrition. Uncovering the lifestyle, stressors, nutritional deficiencies and body alignment roadblocks to people’s health. Dr. Judy prefers to partner with patients to help them reach their best life.
Dr. Judy is a certified Functional Medicine practitioner from the Institute of Functional Medicine. In 2008, she spearheaded the functional nutrition program within the practice. Her work with patients to be a catalyst for change has led to patients getting remarkable results. She has trained and attended seminars from some of the greatest mind in Clinical Nutrition. Believing that food is medicine, Dr. Judy utilizes only whole food supplements, herbs, and diet changes to address a wide breadth of health concerns.
Dr. Judy has been married and practiced with Dr. John Gentner for nearly 30 years. She is also a graduate of Life Chiropractic College. She is the parent of 3 daughters, enjoys cooking healthy meals and teaching holistic cooking to others. She also enjoys family time, meditation, yoga, paddle boarding, and hiking.

Nick has over 12 years of experience as a Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist working with elite talent in the NFL, MLB, and NHL and has helped players labeled “injury prone” to get back on the field. Nick also holds multiple degrees in Exercise Science and as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. He also recently became one of six MAT Rx Wrist, Hand, and Foot specialists in the State of Ohio and will be traveling back to Denver to start the full body Rx course in June.
After spending years in a clinical setting performing corrective exercises and noticing different results for different people, his journey for more answers lead him to Greg Roskopf who is the founder of Muscle Activation Techniques. Soon after implementing these strategies his clients noticed they were able to get back to walking or running further, seeing better results from their corrective exercises, competing at a higher level in their sport, and more range of motion and strength in their exercise programs.
Recently married, Nick and his wife made the decision to move back home to Cleveland from Foxboro, MA where he was working with several players from The New England Patriots. Over the past 5 years Nick’s experience in MAT played a vital role in multiple championship seasons.
In his spare time Nick enjoys seeking out new information and is working towards completing the Resistance Training Specialist Course (RTS), Precision Human Nutrition. Being involved with football has always been a passion of his and he enjoys coaching his nephew in youth football in his hometown of Vermilion and helping complete the vision shared by his late Coach Matt Kobal making the program stronger.
Kim Brody has a long history of helping clients rehab injuries, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance performance. After earning her Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Exercise Physiology in 1994, Kim began working with clients as a personal trainer in cardiac rehabilitation and corporate wellness.
When Kim heard about Muscular Activation Therapy, or MAT, met founder Greg Roskpf, she was immediately hooked. With a career already dedicated to helping clients perform an live their best, This new discipline seemed a perfect match for what Kim cares about most. Kim was the first certified MAT specialist in Ohio.
Kim works with everyone from pro-athletes to couch potatoes, small children to 90 year olds. She believes keeping people doing what they love to do, and improve the quality of life is what motivates her to do what she does.
In her free time, you can find Kim spending time with her family, husband, and two daughters, outdoors and is always active.
